Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Please order at least one week prior to your scheduled moving day. Orders placed early morning can be delivered the same afternoon! Our prices are competitive.

Yes! They are simply handled as part of the hourly cost.

We do need to know ahead of time since the truck needs to have space free to accommodate additional furniture.

Yes! An excessive number of stairs to be climbed is something which needs to be brought up to us before we come out so that we can give you a quote on additional costs. A long walking distance from your entrance to our truck is also an important issue. These things can lengthen the time needed for your move and also contribute to our employees tiring faster.

Yes! All our trucks are well stocked with blankets, mats & floor runners.

If your home has hardwood flooring we will place floor runners to ensure that we don’t scratch the floor. For carpeted areas we have plastic runners. We also make sure that any bulky items which can scratch or damage floors or walls are wrapped with a blanket.

Regarding safety, our employees are instructed never to take risks in terms of carrying items which may be too heavy or to carry them in a way which may expose them or the customer to risk of injury.

Yes! We are fully insured!

There are four types of insurance related to a move.

The first is liability insurance. We carry $2,000,000.00 in liability coverage. This covers you from any liability due to injury or damage to property.

The second is cargo insurance. We carry $250,000.00 in cargo insurance. This covers your belongings as they are in transit on our trucks in case of an accident leading to total damage.

The third is Worksafe BC coverage. We are registered with Worksafe BC and as such our employees are protected in case of long-term disability.

The fourth is coverage of your household goods against damage. You are automatically covered with our standard protection plan. This means that any goods we damage we compensate you for based on the weight of the item. For example if a used TV weighing 200lbs. is damaged we will compensate you $120.00(200lbs. X $.60).

You can purchase additional insurance coverage if you wish. Please contact us for more information.

Once our employees are at your location and have made contact with you our clock starts. Once your last item has been delivered our clock stops rounding off to the closest 15 minutes.

We have a three hour minimum charge. We pay our employees a minimum number of hours per shift (Please see our Rates section).

For end of month moves we require a 25% deposit as we reserve that particular date and time for you.

If you cancel at least week before your move date you will receive a full refund. If you have to cancel less than a week we do not refund your deposit unless we are able to fill your reserved date.

Local moves are charged an hourly rate plus a one-time travel/fuel surcharge. Long distance movers get an in home estimate based on the quantity/weight of items to be moved and the distance between locations.

The hourly rate depends on what services are required , the size of moving truck required, the number of movers required, and to some degree might be affected by the difficulty of the move (ie Stairs, distance to truck etc.). The hourly rate is also affected by demand for moving services (we pay overtime). Mid-month movers pay less than month-end movers, off-season movers pay less than people moving in peak moving season (Jul-Sep). We even offer price breaks to seniors and students so for us to post a fixed hourly rate would be impossible.

What we do, is quote the lowest price we can for the moving services you need… and we stick to our quotes, no surprises on moving day. The best way to get the lowest possible price is to call us as far ahead of the move as possible and speak to a representative. Your moving specialist will try to work with you to get the lowest possible rate.

Estimated Hours for Moving

For a 2 -Bedroom it takes roughly 5 – 5 ½ hours
For a 3-Bedroom it takes roughly 6 – 6 1/2 hours
For a 4-Bedroom it takes roughly 8 – 8 ½ hours
For a 5-Bedroom home it takes roughly 10 hours
