How To Pack Silverware
Silverware — Wrap individually in cloth or low-sulfur-content paper (available from Urban Rush Movers) to prevent tarnishing.
Wrap the silver chest with a moving pad or blanket.
- Cutlery should be wrapped with clean newsprint, bubble wrap or tissue paper
- Ensure cutlery is facing in the same direction
- Identify knives and the direction of the sharp edge to prevent injury when unpacking
- Place cutlery in one corner of your paper
- Cover and roll the stack continually tucking in the side to create to neat stack
- Silverware should be wrapped in acid free paper to prevent tarnishing
- Wrap pieces individually
- Place the first piece in a corner and cover with paper
- Nest the second piece over the first and cover with paper
- Repeat until you have a stack of 4
- Roll the bundle, tucking in the edges to create a neat bundle
- Place bundles flat in the box
- Fill any gaps with crushed paper
- Cover top of paper
- Close and seal the box
