How To Pack Silverware

Silverware — Wrap individually in cloth or low-sulfur-content paper (available from Urban Rush Movers) to prevent tarnishing.
Wrap the silver chest with a moving pad or blanket.

  1. Cutlery should be wrapped with clean newsprint, bubble wrap or tissue paper
  2. Ensure cutlery is facing in the same direction
  3. Identify knives and the direction of the sharp edge to prevent injury when unpacking
  4. Place cutlery in one corner of your paper
  5. Cover and roll the stack continually tucking in the side to create to neat stack
  6. Silverware should be wrapped in acid free paper to prevent tarnishing
  7. Wrap pieces individually
  8. Place the first piece in a corner and cover with paper
  9. Nest the second piece over the first and cover with paper
  10. Repeat until you have a stack of 4
  11. Roll the bundle, tucking in the edges to create a neat bundle
  12. Place bundles flat in the box
  13. Fill any gaps with crushed paper
  14. Cover top of paper
  15. Close and seal the box
