How To Pack Glassware
China and Glassware — Delicate china and glassware should be packed in dish packs. This is a double layered box which is stronger and offers more protection for delicate items. Wrap items individually.
- Fill the bottom of the box with crushed paper
- Place a stack of paper flat on your packing area
- Place the glass in one corner of the paper
- Take the corner of 1 or 2 sheets of paper and place around the glass
- Begin to roll forward
- After completing the first trun, turn in the sides
- Continue rolling the glass forward and tucking in the sides as you go
- Place the glasses upside down, on their rims and in a row
- Place crushed paper in any gaps and between the rows
- Fill the box to capacity and top with crushed paper
- Seal teh box and label with a “Fragile” sticker
Cups
- Position a cup a few inches from one of the corners of the packing paper.
- Pull the closest corner of the paper over the cup.
- Nestle a second cup on top of the first
- Pull the two side corners over and tuck the paper inside the top cup.
- Roll the cups to the remaining corner.
- Place cups vertically, with lips down, towards the top of the box.
- Delicate or antique china should be wrapped one at a time and stuffed with paper.
