How To Pack DVDs

DVDs, CDs, Software Discs, Records — Use a small box. Be sure that the bottom is securely fastened.

  1. Layer the bottom of the box with shredded or crushed paper.
  2. Put a piece of cardboard or a hard book at each end of the box to protect the disks.
  3. Pack in their protective sleeves or cases or wrap in tissue paper to prevent scratching.
  4. Put one disk in the center of the packing paper.
  5. Take the edge of a sheet and pull over the disk to cover it completely.
  6. Place a second disk on top.
  7. Take the edge of the next sheet and pull over the second disk to cover it completely.
  8. Continue this process untill your stack is the desired height.
  9. Wrap the entire bundle by bringing the other 3 edges around the stack.
  10. Stand on edge in boxes.
  11. Fill gaps and top the box with crushed paper.
  12. Label box as “Fragile”.
  • Video Tapes or Audio Cassette Tapes – Use the same technique to pack audio cassettes and video tapes. These items may be packed vertically or horizontally on layers of shredded or crushed paper. Fill in with paper as needed. Be sure to mark the box “Fragile.”
